  1. Learn a new skill.

Even if you’ve been riding for decades, learning a new skill can be an exhilarating experience. Never rode dirt? Get off the road! Want to master those twisties? Sign up for a track day. Whatever your skill level and your experience, it’s always great to learn something new: it boosts your confidence, allows you to find new ways to enjoy motorcycling, and makes you an even better rider.

  1. Give back to the community

You don’t need to ride around the world for charity to give back. Most motorcycling clubs and organizations are already involved in giving back, whether it’s by giving rides to the blind, donating blood, or helping out children in need. Don’t know of any organized motorcycle charity events? Donate your skill to the neighborhood: help fix your friend’s bike, teach someone to ride, or help them pick the right gear. It’s all about sharing!

5.Hit that open road

Traveling by motorcycle is the most delicious form of freedom there is. So plan an epic road trip in 2018: it doesn’t have to be a six-month ride to the tip of South America to count. Just pick a route, pack your bike, and go – even if it’s just a weekend ride on the Blueridge Parkway or a journey across the Continental Divide, it’s all about adventure, freedom, and discovery.

Make it about the ride!
