The riding season is now in full swing – but planning new routes for the summer rides can be challenging. We compiled a list of the best summer motorcycle roads in the US to help you along!
We deliberately didn’t include the most obvious choices like the Tail of the Dragon or the Pacific Coast Highway. Instead, we picked a few of the less known roads and destinations to inspire you to explore more.

Arizona Highway 89
Beautiful countryside, amazing views and a curvy road – what more could you want? Route 89 is the ultimate scenic drive that takes you through Grand Canyon country and Navajo land, offering incredible Colorado River views. Make sure you have enough water though – it can get searing hot in the summer months!
Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina
A stunning drive through the misty Smoky Mountains in North Carolina, the Blue Ridge Parkway is a must-see on two wheels. Often dubbed “America’s Favorite Drive”, the Blue Ridge Parkway is all about history, adventure, and scenery.
Shaffer Trail, Utah

Engineer Pass to Ouray, Colorado
Located in the San Juan mountains, Colorado, the Engineer Pass is one of the most spectacular mountain passes in the States and one of the most scenic off-road rides in Colorado. The many mines, ghost towns, and waterfalls along the way makes for a perfect weekend adventure on two wheels!
Cherohala Skyway, Tennessee
The Cherohala Skyway, crossing through the Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee and the Nantahala National Forest in North Carolina, has been officially called a “Scenic National Byway”. Connecting Tellico Plains, Tennessee, with Robbinsville, North Carolina, the Cherohala Skyway makes for a short but incredible ride.
